Join us!

We welcome new members into our fast-growing club. No paddling experience is required. Paddlers may attend any of our practices. We provide paddles, life jackets, boats and recreational and race preparation training. Bring dry clothes, comfortable shoes and bottled water to the practice.

Our Mission

Washington Dragon Boat Association (WDBA) is committed to promoting local, regional, national and international amateur dragon boating participation and competition In celebration of the cultural diversity of Washington and the Pacific Northwest, WDBA will present such other activities that foster community involvement and cross cultural awareness and understanding.

Membership Dues

Annual Membership dues are renewed in January of each year. First year dues are pro-rated using $6.25 a month from date membership application is signed through December of that same year. Renewal of Annual Membership dues become due every January thereafter.

Individual Membership                $75
Student                                     $30 (fulltime with Student ID) 
Family Membership                   $200 (up to five immediate family members)
Lifetime Membership               $1000

Membership Benefits

1. Unlimited paddles.  Paddle anytime a WDBA practice is scheduled in Tacoma and/or Olympia
2. You become a voting member of Washington Dragon Boat Association
3. Paddles / Flotation devices are provided during scheduled paddles.

Membership dues cover

Dues help cover: Moorage, liability and boat insurance, paddles, pfd’s, boats, maintenance on boats and equipment.

Members Commitment

Practice is up to you, come paddle when you want. No minimum or maximium practices required. 

WDBA is sustained through hosting dragon boat events.  Your volunteer involvement in these events is vital to the club.  Volunteering for promotional / community events and assisting with various club functions determine the future of the club.
