Membership Form

Membership Benefits:

1.    Unlimited practices.  Paddle anytime a WDBA practice is scheduled in Olympia and/or Tacoma.

2.    Become a voting WDBA member.

3.    Access to all paddling equipment needed for practice and races.

4.    Discount purchasing at select retail sporting stores.

Member Commitment:

Practice is up to you, come paddle when you want.  No minimum or maximum practices required.

Membership Dues:

Your dues help to cover moorage, liability, boat insurance, paddles, life jackets, boats and maintenance on boats and equipment.

Annual membership dues are renewed in January and will be prorated from February – December for new members.

Individual Waiver Release

I, the undersigned, whether or not I am a member, hereby certify and declare that in consideration of the use of Washington Dragon Boat Association (WDBA) dragon boat(s), whether the boats are owned by WDBA or are being rented and under the care of WDBA, I do hereby personally, without reservation, waive, release, acquit and forever discharge WDBA and any coaches, officers, agents, or members of the WDBA, and the owner and manager of the premises at which the boat(s) are moored, from any and all suits, claims, demands, or assertions of liability of any nature whatsoever, for personal injuries, property damage, loss of services, injury to corporeal  interests, or other like damages occasioned by, arising from, or otherwise connected with my participation in use of the dragon boats, and do personally covenant that no action of law or suit in equity shall ever be brought against WDBA, its coaches, officers, agents, or members or the owner and manager of the premises at which the boat(s) are moored, on account of any matter herein above set forth.

I declare that I am aware of the risks and hazards inherent in the sport of dragon boating and in the launching, docking and the storing of equipment used in the sport of dragon boating.  I further declare that I am aware of the risks and hazards in participating in a dragon boat practice or race, knowing conditions may be hazardous and dangerous and that obstructions may exist and that high winds may cause rough water, and that I hereby voluntarily assume all risks of loss, damage or injury including death, that may be sustained by me or to any property while in or upon said dragon boat(s).  I understand the necessity for close supervision of my involvement on the dragon boat(s), and authorize WDBA, their coaches, officers, agents, and members who may be in charge from time to time to direct and control my activities where necessary for my protection and for the protection of all participants or the dragon boat(s).

I further authorize the person in charge to secure any necessary emergency medical services for me, agree to pay for such services and to save WDBA, its coaches, officers, agents, and members harmless therefore.

The provision of this instrument shall be binding on my heirs, agents, successors and assigns.
